Blackwater State Forest... Sweetwater Trail at Krul Lake in the Florida Panhandle

These Photos were taken Monday 1-20-2014
At Blackwater State Forest in the Northwest Florida Panhandle.

The weather was great for being outdoors, it was blue skies and a little bit of a breeze, the temperature was around 65 degrees,  This was a real treat, because we have had some below freezing temps in the Florida Panhandle in recent days.  The change in weather was a very welcome change for us.  We had a picnic lunch here at the lake...there were picnic tables near the lake, and we explored this crystal clear lake.... looks like a fun place to come back and swim in the summer....

After eating lunch and exploring the lake a while, we set out for the Sweetwater Nature Trail.  It was a 1.3 mile hike to the end of the trail which leads to another lake (Bear Lake)  and then 1.3 miles back....some of the trail was wooden boardwalks...

The old water mill was a nice surprise....I love the little mossy rocky creek below...and the sound of the water running over the rocks....

this is the path off the boardwalk..... it was cleared and nice, the woods weren't real thick along the trail, and it was a sunny pathway that led to...
 Bear Lake....
 Beautiful and Serene.....
Thanks for coming along on a nature walk with us!

To find out more about this nature trail and these lakes you can visit the link to Krul Lake HERE and Bear Lake HERE. By the way, there are campsites at both lakes for camping.
