Havana Florida

(Photos taken Nov. 2017)
Looking for a fun place to do some junkin' or antique store shopping? The town of Havana Florida in North Florida just outside of Tallahasse is the perfect place. We had the pleasure of visiting this small town back in November. We were only passing through, but it was worth stopping and exploring.....
We strolled the streets on foot and went in every shop here....there were small restaurants, gift shops, antique malls, a coffee and sweet shop too....so much to see....
We bought some things in the shop above....the owner was the sweetest lady....I wish I had remembered the name of her shop!
The old brick police station in Havana was so quaint....I had to stop and take a picture of it...

We bought a couple of things in the shop below too....it was fun plundering around each place and the prices in Havana were very reasonable...

Well, thanks for coming along with us for a stroll down the city streets!

Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park Tallahasse Florida

(Photos taken November 2017)
Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park is located in Tallahassee in North Florida...and my husband and I visited this park on day two of our little fall getaway (to see where we went the first day of our getaway, you can scroll the page down to my last post).  We were here early in the morning around 8 a.m. and the weather was nice and cool and there was a little bit of a foggy mist in the air on this fall morning.  We were the first one's in the park, so my husband and I pretty much had the place to ourselves the whole time we were here....I loved that.....

We couldn't wait to see what was behind the garden gate....and were not disappointed by all we found. Since it was fall, things were not in full bloom here, (there were a only a few blooms)....but everything was still nice and green.... it was beautiful here and so tranquil....
brick pathways added to the charm of this historic place....

 Some pink camellias were blooming....

Remnants of their harvest decor....a scarecrow here and there, peeked out from some of the bushes in a few places (above left side)...

The lakeside pavilion had nice views of the lake......

We followed the path to the secret garden....which was so much fun for me...

Just beyond the garden gate was the view of the refection pool with it's gorgeous blue color...it was such a nice surprise....

Historic Maclay House has views of the lake, (we didn't take the guided tour of the inside of it because it is only open Jan.through April, which is the height of the blooming season)....
I love how the ivy grows along the staircase....

To stand beneath the huge moss draped oaks make you feel so small....this is the view from the
house....

Off the beaten path was such beauty to behold...

We found the pond...there was a walkway to walk all the way around it....

Fall was in the air in North Florida.....
Benches.... for a place to rest a while....

We so enjoyed seeing this amazing place, I think I could have stayed and stayed and stayed here....even though, "Dorothy and Toto above says there's no place like Home".... well.... I guess she is right...

I hope we'll get the chance to come back here again and see the gardens in full bloom in the Springtime!  I want to come back here again!

Thanks for coming along with us today, I hope you enjoyed taking the walking tour with us!
