Bellingrath Gardens and Home - Spring- April 2024

For a spring trip we went to Bellingrath Gardens and Home, in Theodore Alabama, these photos are from April 5, 2024....

We've been here before, (this is our third time here over the last 15 years), but I love this place and it's always a treat to get the chance to go here....the other times we were here it was summertime, very hot and humid. This time it was cooler and we got to see different things in bloom....

Petunias were blooming everywhere...

The roses were not blooming yet this time, (it's still spring), but so much was blooming and the cooler temperatures were wonderful this day that we didn't mind, we've seen them in full bloom another time when we were here, it is a sight to behold...

The greenhouse was warm inside and is filled with pretty tropical looking plants...

There are so many unique water features in the gardens...

and the garden paths are all paved...

The home is beautiful, it is something to see, we've been inside for the tour on a previous visit....I would highly recommend going on the home tour....

Here's the water view from the house...

They said that this year the azaleas had started blooming and then a cold front came in and the flowers fell off, so there wasn't a show of them this year, but we did find a few with blooms (above)...

There are lots of shady areas to sit for a rest and take in the views...

The Delchamps Gallery of Boehm Porcelain is included in the admission charge and inside you'll see some exhibits of this amazing porcelain collection in glass cases, it is air conditioned inside the building, and there are bathroom facilities and a place to sit to watch a video about the history of Bellingrath and Boehm Porcelain....

Here are a few photos of some of the displays that are in the glass cases....truly this is an amazing and talented artist....

Bellingrath Gardens even has a small Chapel...

There is a boardwalk trail that follows along the marshy area of this waterway...
So many places to stop for a fun pose....

If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet, and peaceful place to visit, and you are ever near the Mobile Alabama area, Bellingrath Gardens and Home is a must see. We enjoyed every minute of our day here.

Noccalula Falls Park Gadsden AL. Spring, March 2024

This spring 2024, we visited Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden AL...these photos were taken March 2024...

This place is so beautiful and amazing....

We walked the park and we also took the little train ride around it as well...

We were the only ones on the ride at the time, maybe that's why we are grinning so...it was so much fun...

There is a Pioneer Village in the park, being here makes you feel like you are going back in time...

I think Robert's favorite pose is pointing at things, lol! He's done this pose at many of our destinations...I so love him!

We hiked the trail to the bottom of the waterfall....

The short hike was so pretty... and the waterfall was spectacular...

Thanks for coming along with us today!

For more information about this beautiful place you can visit their website HERE

Note: The Noccalulu Falls Park has an admission charge to get inside, but there is a lot to do there, (we spent several hours there), there's the little train ride with a tour guide who tells you about the park, and there's the pioneer village to explore, a covered bridge, a small animal exhibit, gardens with flowers, as well as views to the upper portion of the waterfall, and access to the lower portion of the waterfall through a short trail with creek views and lots of rocks, and in case you are wondering...we didn't feel like the trail was too hard for us, and we are in our 50's.

I wanted to mention that there is also a parking lot on the other side of the creek that you can also visit and see a different vantage point of the waterfall and there is no admission charge there. You'll find it at the entrance that goes to the campground and there's parking over there to see Noccalulu Falls and there's a bridge to walk over and picnic tables as well.

But we would definitely recommend seeing all that the other side has to see and do if you are going to Noccalulu Falls, it is well worth the admission charge to get in and see all that's there.
We loved our visit!
