Great Smoky Mountains Tennessee Vacation (Gatlinburg) August 2022

For Robert's birthday August 2022, we went to East Tennessee, stayed in Gatlinburg and we explored the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We also drove to Cherokee, NC, and Bryson City, NC.....we had a great time, here are some pictures from our trip.....

 These were taken in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park....

We had a fun time staying in Gatlinburg. We could walk from everything from our hotel....

Robert had a chocolate eclair from the Donut Friar in Gatlinburg, instead of birthday cake for his 55th Birthday...

We love the creek and the way it sounds, it is everywhere here it seems....so beautiful....

While visiting Tennessee, we drove the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail two days in a row....we could not get enough of seeing this beautiful place....

We saw a Mama bear and two of her cubs right on the side of the road....

This was a waterfall that was near the visitor center that we went to in Gatlinburg, it was not a hard walk and the nature trail was short, and it was fairly easy for us to get to the waterfall...the nature trail is back behind the visitor center...

On one of the days of our trip, we drove through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to Cherokee, NC and saw this Elk near Cherokee....

I wish I had gotten more photos in Cherokee, there is a beautiful creek there and we went in some neat shops.. 

We drove to Bryson City, NC too, and explored the charming downtown area.....the businesses there were very friendly and many of them told us that Bryson City is the quieter side of the Smokies...it was a very nice place to be and we enjoyed our time there....

On our way home we made a stop in Madison Ga. to stretch our legs and explore their beautiful downtown area.....

We had a great time and will cherish the memories we made on this trip. We are so thankful to God for being able to enjoy such beautiful places, and see more of God's marvelous handiwork found in the beauty of nature and his creation.

Tybee Island Georgia Light Station & Museum February 2022

      We visited Tybee Island on our Savanah Georgia trip....it is about a 15 minute drive from Savanah and the drive there was scenic and pretty with marsh views. We drove there to visit the Atlantic Coast and The Tybee Island Light  Station and Museum....

We took a tour of the light keeper's cottage, walked around the grounds, walked to the top of the lighthouse and got to see great views of the island and the Atlantic Ocean....

Wormsloe Historic Site Savanah Georgia February 2022

 During our visit to Savanah Georgia, we went to Wormsloe Historic Site....the one mile lane that leads to the main parking lot was so beautiful it was lined with spanish moss draped oaks.  There is so much history here at Wormsloe.....we saw what was left of the tabby ruin and walked  the grounds of where the first group of settlers came from Enland and established a colony in Georgia. Walking the shaddy trail was so peaceful there...

and the marshlands were pretty.....

Bonaventure Cemetery Savanah Georgia Febrary 2022

     During our visit to Savanah Georgia in  February 2022, we visited the Bonaventure Historic Cemetary....
